Absurdist comedy 'Picasso at the Lapin Agile' runs through April 9, 2017

Picasso at the Lapin Agile, written by Steve Martin March 31-April 9 Fridays and Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 5 p.m. UAA Harper Studio - Fine Arts Building, Room 129

This fast-paced absurdist comedy, by the legendary comedian Steve Martin, places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904, just before Einstein transformed physics with his theory of relativity and Picasso set the art world on fire with cubism. The two geniuses muse on the century's achievements and prospects as well as debate on the nature and importance of art and science, before being visited by a third genius from the future.
