Scott Dikkers

Scott Dikkers, co-founder of The Onion, will speak at UAA on May 6, 2017.

In celebration of the graduating class of 2017, UAA Student Activities and Commuter Programs is excited to announce Scott Dikkers will perform on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium.

Scott Dikkers encourages you to think outside the box and seize opportunities to create something new, because the potential for a crazy idea to succeed is greater than ever. He should know. As co-founder and longest-serving editor-in-chief of The Onion, Scott captivates audiences with the unlikely and hilarious story of how he and a few friends dropped out of college and started a fake newspaper, which evolved into the world's very first humor website.

With a comic's command of timing, Scott paints the picture of a starry-eyed kid who loved reading Mad Magazine and dreamt of one day getting his work published, to improbably founding the world's first humor website and heading up America's longest-surviving humor publication.

Tickets are free for UAA students with valid ID (plus one guest), $5 for UAA faculty/staff, and $10 for the general public. Tickets are available at UAATix.com and the Student Union Information Desk.
