Announcing the retirement of Carolyn Hanthorn

Please join the Admissions team in extending our best wishes to Carolyn Hanthorn, who is retiring from the university on June 30. Carolyn has worked for the University of Alaska Anchorage since 1988, much of this time in Enrollment Services. She remembers when registration required standing in long lines with paper forms before online registration streamlined the process. She participated in the dramatic changes from filing all those forms in dozens of file cabinets to the speed of electronic imaging systems. She spent the last several years in the Office of Admissions, working with undergraduate and graduate students.

Now, it is time for Carolyn to see another big change and that is to begin the rest and relaxation of her retirement years. Although we will miss her smiling face, we look forward to hearing about her retirement adventures, like cruising and visiting grandbabies. We all wish her the very best.
