UA Foundation seeks proposals for Harold T. Caven Professorship

The University of Alaska Foundation is seeking proposals for the Harold T. Caven Professorship. Proposals are accepted from University of Alaska business and finance faculty. The professorship is a two-year appointment with a maximum award amount of $20,000, intended to allow the recipient to carry out activities and projects that will enhance business and finance fields at the University of Alaska.

Applicants with leadership experience in the financial community are preferred. The successful candidate will be selected based upon their academic accomplishments, attributes and qualifications as well as the proposed projects and activities' quality and benefit to the university.

The deadline to submit complete proposals, including application, curriculum vitae and letters of reference is Nov. 17, 2017. Proposals may be mailed to the UA Foundation at PO Box 755080, Fairbanks, AK 99775 or electronically submitted to dory.straight@alaska.edu. The term of the professorship commences upon award and will continue until December 2019.

The Harold T. Caven Professorship was established in 1974 with a generous gift from Mrs. Loretta Caven, widow of Dr. Harold T. Caven. Dr. Caven was a longtime Alaskan who served as director and vice president of First National Bank of Anchorage.
