Fall 2017: Update regarding municipality's UAA Drive sidewalk project

by Michelle Saport  |

This summer, the Municipality of Anchorage began a project to add a sidewalk along the west side of UAA Drive. The sidewalk runs from Mallard Lane to the existing sidewalk next to Engineering and Computation Building. The municipality intended to have the project completed before the start of the semester. They were unable to meet that goal. UAA Facilities has received numerous inquiries about the schedule of this project and when the traffic diversion on UAA Drive will end.

As of Sept. 5, the municipality reported some rework required on the sidewalk that was installed last week. They expect to address the issue this week, with the intention of returning to the normal traffic pattern by the week of Sept. 11. The work is weather dependent, so there is a chance their schedule will push out again.
