Oct. 19, 2017: Free workshop on using U.S. Census Bureau data and tools

On Thursday, Oct. 19, 9:30-11 a.m., the UAA/APU Consortium Library will host a free workshop on U.S. Census Bureau data and tools. The workshop will be held in Room 309 of the library.

Participants will learn about the types of data the Census Bureau produces and how to locate data using various tools. The presenter, a Census Bureau data dissemination specialist, will also discuss how Census data can help with grants, reports and other projects.

The workshop will include:

  • Preview of the new data platform, data.census.gov
  • Demonstration of searching for data on census.gov
  • Overview of Census data and tools, including American Community Survey & American FactFinder
  • Information on recent and future data releases
  • Question-and-answer session
