Oct. 17, 2017: President Johnsen to hold student listening session on proposed tuition increases

by kbolmstead  |

President Jim Johnsen, the Board of Regents and campus leadership want to hear from you about the proposed 5 percent tuition increases* for AY2019 and AY2020. Because of cuts to the university's budget, a proposal to increase student tuition will be discussed and voted on at the Board of Regents' meeting on Nov. 9-10, 2017.  To bring parity to the tuition fees,  *Kodiak College and Prince William Sound College tuition would increase by 10 percent in AY2019 and 9.5 percent in AY2020.

President Johnsen will hold a listening session on the UAA campus on Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307.

You can provide direct feedback to the president via this form and ask him your questions if you cannot attend the listening session. Additionally, the Board of Regents wants to hear from you on Oct. 29 when they will hold a telephone call-in session from 4 to 6 p.m.  Regardless of where you are in Alaska, you can participate by calling (866) 726-0757 to share your perspective on tuition or other issues facing the university. The public testimony will air on KUAC-FM HD2 and stream on KUAC2 at kuac.org.
