Introducing Deer Oaks, new provider for UA Employee Assistance Program

Starting July 1, 2017, the University of Alaska will no longer be using the services of ComPsych. The new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider will be Deer Oaks. Deer Oaks has extensive experience working with public employers and brings some additional features to university employees and dependents.

University of Alaska Anchorage interim vice chancellor for administrative services Patrick Shier announced Wednesday that Tim McDiffett will serve as UAA’s interim director of athletics, effective July 10.

Carol Swartz accepted the director's job at UAA's Kachemak Bay Campus-Kenai Peninsula College, saying she'd try it for a year. Thirty-one years later, she's still at the helm, recently wrapped up her 16th Kachemak Bay Writers' Conference and was named a member of the Alaska Women's Hall of Fame.

Significant impacts to UAA Drive and Providence Drive due to ML&P work

Beginning on Saturday, June 24 Municipal Light and Power will begin work on electrical distribution infrastructure along UAA Drive and Providence Drive. This work will cause significant road closures.
