Jan. 23, 2018 webinar: Dr. Jamie Washington on racist messages on campus

by Michelle Saport  |

Campuses continue to face race-related posters and graffiti on college campuses across the nation. Racist slurs, symbols and threats written on walls, student name tags and residence hall doors have inflamed students and administrators on a number of campuses, as have posters advertising the White nationalist movement. Social media has also seen its share of tweets and posts demonstrating discrimination and hate.

Dr. Andre Thorn and the Multicultural Center team would like to cordially invite UAA staff and facility to participate in a free webinar, "Racist Messages on Campus: Respond, Recover & Rebuild from Vandalism, Symbols & Slurs" presented by Dr. Jamie Washington, on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. in the Lew Haines Meeting Room (UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307). Please RSVP to Taylor Garber at tlgarber@alaska.edu by noon, Jan. 22. Space is limited.
