The Office of New Student Recruitment is pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for students and invites you to nominate exceptional candidates.
The inaugural Chancellor's League will include a diverse group of students representing the best and brightest of the University of Alaska Anchorage. They will be selected through a faculty or staff referral, competitive application and interview process. Chancellor's League members will assist with high-profile campus visits, events at the Chancellor's House, fundraisers, commencements and other distinguished University and community events. The Chancellor's League will work to enhance the image of the university and help foster relationships with all members, friends, alumni and special guests of UAA.
Serving as a member of the Chancellor's League is an opportunity and a privilege. Members will hone their leadership skills and have unique opportunities to interact with other outstanding students, community members, faculty, administration and alumni. Selection will be based on willingness to serve, desire to develop as campus and community leaders, availability, academic and extracurricular achievements and professionalism.
Students selected will be inducted into the Chancellor's League at a mandatory day-long retreat where they will study university history and mission, develop their UAA story, receive etiquette training, meet key administrators and alumni, and plan for the semester.
Requirements for acceptance to the Chancellor's League:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Junior or senior standing or graduate students preferred; exceptional sophomores considered
- Faculty or staff nomination/recommendation
- Desire to develop leadership characteristics
- Professional verbal communication skills
- Attend monthly Chancellor's League meetings
- Availability to attend approximately 3-5 daytime, evening or weekend events throughout semester
Interviews and selection will take place in late January - mid February and the induction retreat is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 23.
