"You Can't Go Home to Cleveland, Ohio" on display at the ARC Gallery through March 2, 2018Exhibition: You Can't Go Home to Cleveland, Ohio Jan. 22-March 2, 2018 ARC Gallery (on the first floor of UAA/APU Consortium Library)

This exhibition includes a series of photo-based prints that document a return to the Great Lakes industrial metropolis of Cleveland, Ohio. Formerly a powerhouse of wealth and manufacturing, Cleveland has experienced recession after financial crisis after housing crisis after recession. Still, this city rises from the coal ash.

In the Summer of 2017, MichaeI Conti spent a two-month residency, funded by the Rasmuson Foundation, in the community fine art print shop, Zygote Press. While there, he biked the bridges, the Flats, the shore and the neighborhoods looking for a small piece of truth about Cleveland to bring back to the studio. These prints are a record of the people, the stories and the memories encountered there.

The ARC Gallery is open during library hours.
