by Michelle Saport  |

Please join Student Affairs in congratulating Lora Volden on her appointment as the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Enrollment Services (ES). With more than 24 years of experience in Student Affairs at a variety of institutions, Lora brings a breadth of knowledge to this position.

Lora has served UAA for the past 17 years, first joining UAA as the director of New Student Orientation and adjunct faculty member for Guidance 150, teaching students the academic and life skills necessary for college success. Lora next worked within the Office of the Registrar, providing leadership first as Assistant University Registrar, then as Associate University Registrar, and beginning in 2012, as University Registrar. Last year, Lora stepped up to serve as the interim AVC for ES.

Lora earned a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology from St. Cloud State University and a Master of Counseling, with an emphasis in Student Affairs and College Counseling, from Idaho State University.

With her extensive and progressively more responsible leadership experience at UAA, Lora has a deep understanding of UAA, its people and processes as well as its strengths and areas that need improvement. Lora begins in her official capacity as the AVC for ES, effective immediately-we look forward to seeing how she will continue to serve students here at UAA.
