Test of on-campus emergency alerting system set for this Friday

by Michelle Saport  |

A test of the on-campus emergency alerting system has been scheduled for this Friday, Feb. 23, at 9 a.m. IT Services has implemented some software upgrades, and we will be activating all Cisco telephone speakerphones on the Anchorage, Eagle River, JBER and Bragaw sites. Note that this alert test will NOT activate your mobile phone, email, text or other methods.

The UAA Office of Emergency Management requests that you notify the helpdesk at (907) 786-4646 if the voice alert is not heard in its entirety. The 17-second announcement will say: "Attention! Attention! This is the spring semester test of the UAA emergency alerting system, using only the on-campus speakerphone option. This has been a test launched through the Office of Emergency Management. Thank you." An alert script should also appear on your desk phone.
