Automated External Defibrillator training to be offered April 13, 2018

by Michelle Saport  |

The UAA Office of Emergency Management is offering short workshops to employees who want to learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Studies have shown that caring for someone in cardiac arrest by using chest compressions results in a much higher chance of survival if an AED is also used. While the university is not required to supply AEDs, several have been installed by departments in buildings across campus.

Training workshops will last about 30 minutes, and are free. No registration is required:

  • Friday, April 13, Noon, in Beatrice McDonald Hall, Room 117
  • Friday, April 13, 2 p.m. in ConocoPhillips Integrated Science Building, Room 120
