West Campus water offline due to blown fire hydrant

by Michelle Saport  |

UPDATE 3/6/18: Water is back online as of 8 a.m. this morning.

Please be aware: Water on West Campus is offline right now due to a blown fire hydrant. UAA Facilities and academic departments are responding to the situation. Classes will continue as scheduled unless you are notified otherwise by your instructor.

Buildings impacted include: Auto Diesel Technology, Wendy Williamson Auditorium, Beatrice McDonald Hall, Lucy Cuddy Hall, Sally Monserud Hall, Eugene Short Hall, Gordon Hartlieb Hall and the Professional Studies Building.

Site excavation is required to access and fix the blown fire hydrant. UAA Facilities is coordinating with a local contractor to complete the repair as quickly as possible. Any status updates will be posted to the UAA Facebook page.

During the water outage, port-a-potties are available in two West Campus locations:

  • Between Wendy Williamson Auditorium and Eugene Short Hall
  • Between Cuddy Hall and Gordon Hartlieb Hall

Restrooms in Rasmuson Hall (and all buildings east of Seawolf Drive) remain operational.

Please contact Facilities at (907) 786-6980 if you have any comments or concerns.
