ADAC announces RFP for solutions to help address an Arctic maritime oil spill; deadline is May 7, 2018

The Arctic Domain Awareness Center (ADAC), a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center of Maritime Research hosted by the University of Alaska, has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) and associated Fall 2017 Arctic Incidents of National Significance (Arctic IoNS) Workshop Rapporteurs Report. This is in follow-up to the Arctic IoNS workshop "Coping with the Unthinkable: An Arctic Maritime Oil Spill" held Oct. 23-25 at UAA.

The goal of the RFP is to address the range of shortfalls or gaps in research, knowledge and/or existing capabilities in responding to an Arctic maritime oil spill. ADAC principally seeks proposals that can transition from research to providing solutions and needed capabilities for the USCG and other Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Arctic maritime operators.

The funded solicitation and associated workshop report are located at adac.uaa.alaska.edu. Additionally, the solicitation and report are also located at the Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) Collaboration website. ADAC seeks responses to this funded solicitation, and asks each responding team to carefully study the instructions contained in the RFP when preparing and sending a proposal. Deadline for submissions is Monday, May 7, 5 p.m. AKDT. Submit proposals to uaa.adac@alaska.edu.
