The Office of University Advancement announces the appointment of Christina "Tina" Teaford to the position of director of alumni engagement.

Teaford is an active member of the Anchorage community, and over the past 18 years she has worked as a magistrate judge, a private-practice attorney, municipal prosecutor and as an assistant attorney general for the State of Alaska. Throughout her legal career and as a volunteer, she's established a broad network of professional relationships in Anchorage and Alaska - including with the University of Alaska Anchorage, where she's both attended and taught courses.

For the past 10 years, as magistrate judge for the Alaska Court System, she led and managed a team of five magistrate judges. As a team leader, she served on numerous court committees and facilitated collaboration between judicial officers, administrators, stakeholders and staff to establish and implement rules, policies and procedures.

As a longtime Anchorage resident, Teaford has volunteered as treasurer on a board of directors, as a supervisor with the Alaska Business Development Center, as an advisor to Anchorage Youth Court, and as a care provider through Hospice of Anchorage. She is an active supporter of Ushering in the Arts and Anchorage School District programs.

Teaford holds a B.A. in philosophy from Willamette University and a J.D. in law from the University of Oregon. Her appointment as director of alumni engagement starts July 23. Her full resume can be found here.
