The Lean Center of Excellence will be hosting its third continuous improvement workshop next week on June 20, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the UAA Main Campus.

E. Andre Thorn, Ph.D., will be leading the workshop, which will offer strategies for effective leadership in complex environments, such as situations where one lacks formal authority, or where one must lead across organizational divides or functional silos. Dr. Thorn is a recipient of a 2017 Chancellor's Award for Excellence for his work as a part of the UAA Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan and is the director of the UAA Multicultural Center.

While no previous Lean training is required to attend, participants will benefit from exposure to the Lean methodology. Advance registration is required and can be completed at link.leanhighered.org/next. Unfortunately, participation via videoconference is not possible for this workshop.

Future workshops will cover subjects such as process mapping and presenting projects.
