Lake Otis Drive impacted by water line replacement beginning July 5

On July 5, Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility (AWWU) and their contractor, Southcentral Construction, will begin a project to replace the 12-inch cast iron water main along the west side of Lake Otis from 36th Avenue to 42nd Avenue. This area will be significantly impacted by trenching. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but it will be constricted into the remaining lanes. AWWU says to expect periodic weekend closures in the area. Pedestrians should be aware of detours in the area.

This project is expected to run through September, and potentially into October.
