UAA welcomes new and returning students to celebrate the beginning of the fall semester with Campus Kick-Off on Saturday, Aug. 25!Again this Fall 2018, UAA welcomes new and returning students to celebrate the beginning of the fall semester with Campus Kick-Off on Saturday, Aug. 25!

Campus Kick-Off Festival Saturday, Aug. 25, 5-7:30 p.m. Cuddy Quad (rain or shine)

Explore more than 150 student clubs, UAA departments, Anchorage businesses and nonprofit organizations during the CKO Festival. This is the best place to get a feel for the UAA campus and surrounding Anchorage community and opportunities to get connected. Also listen to great live music, sample good eats from local food trucks, let loose on inflatable activities, get your butt sketched, and meet Spirit, the Seawolf mascot!

New for students this year will be a CKO Passport program, where students can win prizes for talking with various organizations tabling at the Festival. Prizes range from CKO-branded "swag bags" to Portugal. The Man tickets!

For students living on the residential campus, UAA shuttles will run continuously from Gorsuch Commons to Rasmuson Hall beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Comedy Show featuring Writers of SNL Live! Saturday, Aug. 25, 7:30-9 p.m. Wendy Williamson Auditorium

Following the CKO festival, this year's Comedy Show presents the "Writers of SNL Live!" featuring Andrew Dismukes, Nimesh Patel and Steven Castillo. You won't want to miss this!

UAA vs. Michigan Tech Volleyball Game Saturday, Aug. 25, 7:30 p.m. Alaska Airlines Center

Show your Seawolf pride and cheer on the UAA Volleyball team as they go head-to-head with Michigan Tech at the Alaska Airlines Center. Shuttles will be available to transport students from the main campus to the Alaska Airlines Center and back again!

Dance Party and BBQ Saturday, Aug. 25, 9:30-11:30 p.m. Wendy Williamson Auditorium, Lobby

Dance Party and BBQ is a new debut at this year's CKO! Stick around after the comedy show for a dance party featuring DJ Spencer Lee in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium Lobby. Right outside the Wendy on the Cuddy Quad will be more food - BBQ!

College Night at Fred Meyer Saturday, Aug. 25, 11:59 p.m.-Sunday, Aug. 26, 2 a.m. Fred Meyer on Northern Lights Boulevard

Again this year, the Fred Meyer on Northern Lights Boulevard opens its door exclusively for UAA students from 11:59 p.m. to 2 a.m. Featuring huge sales, prize giveaways, and even more free food to get students ready for the next semester.

Transportation is provided for students via UAA shuttles circulating from Rasmuson Hall and Gorsuch Commons to Fred Meyer beginning at 11:45 p.m. with the last shuttle from Fred Meyer leaving at 2:30 a.m.

Volunteer at Campus Kick-Off! Saturday, Aug. 25 Various shifts

In order to make it all happen, returning UAA students, faculty, and staff are needed to provide volunteer support. Volunteers will receive a confirmation email and final details to follow, as well as a volunteer t-shirt and meal during their shift.
