The State of Alaska Gubernatorial Debate
Monday, Oct. 15, 5:30-7 p.m.
Wendy Williamson Auditorium

Candidates in this year's race for Alaska governor are participating in the first true debate-style format of this election. A panel of journalists from the Anchorage Daily News, moderated by Steve Johnson, director of UAA's Seawolf Debate program, will question each candidate on their respective position about how the PFD should be managed relative to the State of Alaska's current fiscal woes. This event will be live-streamed by ADN.

Gov. Bill Walker, an Independent, former U.S. Sen. Mark Begich, a Democrat, and Billy Toien, a Libertarian, have confirmed attendance. Former state Sen. Mike Dunleavy, a Republican, declined due to a scheduling conflict.

This event is sponsored by the Union of Students of the University of Alaska Anchorage. USUAA thanks our generous co-sponsors-Anchorage Daily News, UAA Economics Club, Atwood Foundation and Seawolf Debate Program-for their support in making this debate possible.
