11 a.m. - Presentation by UA President Jim Johnsen President Johnsen discusses perceptions across public universities on campus free speech and addresses the intent of free speech forums series across the system.

11:15 a.m. - Seawolf Debate Team Members of UAA's acclaimed Seawolf Debate Team debate the proposition, "The future of American democracy depends on limiting free speech."

Noon - Campus Free Speech Lecture by Erwin Chemerinsky Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of the UC Berkeley School of Law, is the co-author of Free Speech on Campus. In this clear and carefully reasoned book, Chemerinsky and University of California, Irvine Chancellor Howard Gillam-both constitutional scholars who teach a course in free speech to undergraduates-argue that campuses must provide supportive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body but can never restrict the expression of ideas.

12:45 p.m. - Moderated Panel Response / Q-and-A Five panelists respond to Chemerinsky's remarks in a moderated discussion. There will also be time for questions from the audience.
