The Homecoming Shopping Cart Parade is a long-standing tradition. Each year during Homecoming Week, UAA student clubs and departments use their creativity and artistic prowess to decorate shopping carts like floats and then parade them around campus. View a slideshow of photos from this year's event on Oct. 8, 2018.

This year, student groups or organizations had the opportunity to earn Spirit Points during Homecoming Week, and the group or organization with the most points at the end of the week wins $1,000 to their organizational accounts. This year's winning group is USUAA and Club Council.

Other student organizations that participated in the many events during Homecoming Week included eSports Club, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Phi Omega, National Society for Leadership and Success, Dating Violence and Sexual Assault Committee, Plates for Compassion, Honors College, and Architecture and Engineering.

The Spirit Competition also brought in more than 710 cans during the canned food drive for the Food Bank of Alaska and the UAA Emergency Food Cache.
