UAA opens academic tutoring center on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson

UAA now offers tutoring services on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The new academic tutoring room, which opened in JBER's Education Center Nov. 2, features a variety of study spaces and will be staffed by UAA tutors during open hours. The room is open to active duty personnel, dependents and veterans, and people do not need to be enrolled in a program at UAA to use the services.

"Having someone students can go to for help will improve student success," said Mel Kalkowski, director of UAA Military Programs. "It gives a student a chance to bounce ideas off someone who understands what their questions are. It gives them an avenue to turn to if they feel they are losing ground in a class, and it should fundamentally improve their ability to pass."
