Passport Caravan at UAA - March 6, 2019

by Michelle Saport  |

Passport on world mapUAA Education Abroad and CIEE are teaming up to give away free passports to 50 students at UAA! As part of the national Generation Study Abroad initiative seeking to double the number of U.S. students studying abroad by 2020, CIEE has generously covered the cost of applying for a passport. CIEE will be on campus this Wednesday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with passport agents to help you apply for a U.S. passport, including paying the fees for you! (You are not required to study abroad in order to receive a free passport.)

The goal of the Passport Caravan event is to support students underrepresented in study abroad. This includes economically challenged students, students with disabilities, first-generation students, and students from diverse backgrounds. If you are interested in applying, please contact UAA's Education Abroad Coordinator Patrick Moore at uaa_oiia@alaska.edu for more information and next steps.

There will also be information sessions on the following days in the Multicultural Center.

  • Thursday, Feb. 14, 2 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 21, 11 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2 p.m.
