UAA alumna Kelcie Ralph to discuss the long-term consequences of childhood car access - Feb. 15, 2019

by Michelle Saport  |

UAA alumna Dr. Kelcie Ralph will present, "Childhood Car Access: Long-term Consequences for Education, Employment, and Earnings," on Friday, Feb. 15, 3:30-5 p.m. in Rasmuson Hall, Room 303.

About the seminar Do children suffer long-term consequences when they grow up without a car? Young adults who were carless as children completed less education, worked for pay less often, experienced more unemployment, and earned less than their matched peers with consistent car access. Research results suggest that transportation disadvantage contributes to the intergenerational transmission of economic standing.

This event is part of the CBPP/IFREE Seminar Series.
