'Managing the Appraisal Process' - April 5, 2019

April's People Management Seminar will feature Courtney Waggoner from Deer Oaks presenting Managing the Appraisal Process on Friday, April 5,  in Social Sciences Building, Room 118, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Enrollment is now open online at the myUA Learning Library. Please use Google Chrome as your browser. This in-person training is sponsored by the UAA Staff Council and Deer Oaks EAP. Feel free to bring your own lunch to the session.

About the seminar: Managing the Appraisal Process Performance appraisals are essential for the effective management and evaluation of staff.

Appraisals help individuals improve organizational performance and feed into business planning. Formal performance appraisals are generally conducted annually by managers for all staff in the organization. This session will assist managers by providing some tips and suggestions for making the process enjoyable and rewarding.

This training will be hosted on the UAA campus. For those who want to attend remotely there will be a Skype call set up. Please email Michelle Yerkes (mlyerkes@alaska.edu) for more information.

How you will benefit: When you leave this session, you should be able to:

  • Discuss the managerial role in performance appraisals.
  • Identify barriers in the communication process.
  • Discuss effective strategies for providing feedback.
