#MeToo: We hear you - April 22, 2019

by Michelle Saport  |

Dear #MeToo event flierOn April 22, 2019, from 6-8 p.m., there will be an event in support of victims and survivors of sexual discrimination, harassment, and assault within our UAA community. People are invited to share their truths in a space that is safe and anonymous, and that allows these truths to be brought to the attention of the UAA community. This is space the prioritizes the experiences and needs of victims and survivors, and provides support for moving forward in our UAA community. The goal is to validate and acknowledge these experiences, and to call attention to the structural changes that need to be made.

All those wishing to share their experiences may submit stories through a secure online service anonymously, and a panel of readers from the UAA community will read those stories aloud. Advocates from campus and community groups will be present to provide information and resources as needed for anyone who wishes to seek support.

If you would like to submit a statement sharing your story for this event, please respond to this Qualtrics survey. Anyone who has a story to share about sexual violence at UAA may submit - even if you are no longer at UAA or living in the Anchorage area. Your email address and name will not be recorded or saved in your submission - this is an anonymous, secure online submission tool.
