Tanya Pont to serve as interim director of alumni engagement

With the upcoming departure of current director of alumni engagement, Tina Teaford, Tanya Pont will serve as interim director of alumni engagement.
Tanya comes to Alumni Relations from Seawolf Athletics, where she served as the associate athletic director of development. With Athletics, she helped create communications strategies for student-athlete alumni engagement, was the lead for developing a bridge between UAA and downtown Anchorage via Athletics, and created new opportunities for constituents to connect with Athletics. Prior to this she was the regional director of marketing for SMG, which provides management services for six Alaska public facilities. She has over 18 years of experience in marketing, public relations and event planning.
