Tundra Vision returns to Mt. View for ninth lecture series Feb. 28

In February, Tundra Vision and the Mountain View Public Library will reunite for our ninth lecture series. This season we will explore the theme, "Surprising Stories of Alaska's Military Past." The participatory series features four different speakers and invites history enthusiasts to contribute to the conversation. The series is family-friendly, and admission is complimentary. Please join us this spring; the schedule is as follows.

Feb. 28: Jean Pollard and ensemble cast, The Alaska Highway Project Frozen in History: A Reader's Theater Play Celebrating the Soldiers Who Built the Alaska Highway 6-8 p.m. | Mountain View Branch Library, Community Room

March 28: Mark Rice and Ivan Hodes, Friends of Nike Site Summit The Secret History of the Cold War in Alaska 6-8 p.m. | Mountain View Branch Library, Community Room

April 25: Russ Vander Lugt, University of Alaska Fairbanks Lower Copper River Landscapes and Indigenous Encounters: The Army Returns After 134 Years 6-8 p.m. | Mountain View Branch Library, Community Room

May 23: Leslie Fried, consulting curator, Alaska Jewish Museum Refuge in the Last Frontier: Evolution of the Alaska Development Plan 6-8 p.m. | Mountain View Branch Library, Community Room
