Update: Bookstore move and how to get your textbooks

by Michelle Saport  |

Dear UAA Community,

In anticipation of the UAA Campus Bookstore's upcoming move to the Alaska Airlines Center (AAC), I wanted to make you aware of some important changes in the way the Bookstore delivers textbooks.

Due to limited space in the temporary location, customers must now order textbooks online from the Bookstore's website for convenient next-day pickup or delivery by mail. Please allow three to five days for in-state delivery, up to a week for out-of-state delivery. Here's what you need to know.

Monday, Sept. 30: Online ordering begins Students can order textbooks online and elect to either pick them up in-store during normal business hours or have them mailed. Pickup orders can be paid online or during pickup. (Please note: Both pickup and mail fulfillment may take longer during peak ordering periods and are subject to textbook availability.)

Students must present their student ID card at the time of pickup. Orders that have not been picked up one week after the selected date will automatically be refunded if payment was made online or returned to the warehouse if the option selected was to pay at pickup.

Sept. 30-Oct. 11: Pickup at current Bookstore location Online ordering will open during this time. Although textbook aisles will be closed, textbook aides will still be able to pull books for you. They will also be able to assist you with placing your online order while in the store. All pickups will take place at the current Bookstore location.

October 14-27: Pickup at AAC by appointment Online ordering will remain open during this time, but the Bookstore will be closed during the move. Pickup will be at the AAC by appointment only. The Bookstore will contact students after their order is processed to arrange a time. Students can call 786-4759 or email uaa_book@uaa.alaska.edu with questions.

October 28: Bookstore reopens at Alaska Airlines Center Online ordering will be standard procedure. Pickup will take place during normal business hours.
