UAA choregraphers present Dance in Performance — Nov. 14–17, 2019

UAA Dance in Performance showcases diverse choreography from the university’s dance faculty, alumni and upcoming student choreographers. The evening will be full of conceptual creativity with nine dynamic dances and dozens of performers.

Like many Alaskans, Kaasan Braendel grew up around bush planes. But it wasn’t until her first ride in a helicopter that she fell in love with aviation. Learning to fly only made her more curious about how aircraft work. Now, with certifications earned at UAA, she is embarking on a career as a helicopter mechanic.

Fact: You cannot stop corrosion. But according to assistant professor in mechanical engineering Raghu Srinivasan, you can study it and mitigate its effects, which is what the award-winning professor is doing in his lab and on top of UAA’s Engineering and Computation Building’s parking garage.
