Open Forum — Dialing in the Core Competencies: What do we want our students to know
and be able to do?

Following the Accreditation Kick Off on Oct. 4, we continued to build a list of Core Competencies as we met with governance groups across campus, as well as other key constituents, such as the board of UAA’s alumni association. We now have a list of 31!
With the May 2020 deadline approaching, it is now time to dial in the Core Competencies to a list of nine.
The final goal is a list of one to three Core Competencies that will guide our institution in our efforts in student learning and student success.
Please join us in a work session to assess a proposed list of nine Core Competencies and to begin deliberating about dialing in further to a list of one to three.
