John Nofsinger to serve as interim dean of CBPP

Dear UAA Community,
I am pleased to announce Dr. John Nofsinger has accepted the role of interim dean of the UAA College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP).
Dr. Nofsinger is currently a professor of finance and the Seward Chair in international finance for CBPP. He has been instrumental in developing courses for classroom delivery, online and remote locations. Over the course of his career, he has authored/co-authored 12 finance trade, text- and scholarly books that have been translated into eight languages. His book, The Psychology of Investing, is popular with investment advisors. He is also a prolific scholar, having published 70 articles in prestigious scholarly and practitioner journals.
Over the next few months he will be working closely with Dean Karen Markel to ensure a seamless transition as she prepares to leave UAA for her new role at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
Dr. Nofsinger will serve for two years, until June 2022. We will conduct a national dean search during the 2021-22 academic year. My thanks to Dr. Nofsinger for his leadership. Please join me in congratulating him on his new role.
