COVID-19 Duty to Report Notification to Residents

by UAA On-Campus Living  |

Dear Resident:

This communication contains important information for all residents continuing to live on campus regarding expectations and procedures for COVID-19. In an effort to keep our community safe, residents are required to notify On-Campus Living (OCL) if they:

  1. Test positive for COVID-19;
  2. Were exposed to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19; or
  3. Have a fever in excess of 100 degrees.

Residents who fall into any of these categories will be required to relocate to quarantine or isolation housing on campus for 14 days or until the resident is cleared to leave by a medical professional.

During business hours, residents should contact the Student Health & Counseling Center (SHCC) if they fall into any of these categories. Residents can contact SHCC at 907-786-4040. SHCC will then notify OCL to coordinate the move to quarantine or isolate the student. Outside of business hours, residents should contact the RA-On-Duty for their area.

As a reminder, anyone who has traveled outside of the state of Alaska in the last 14 days must also self-observe their condition for two weeks. Residents who are self-observing can remain in their assigned space but are also required to notify OCL.

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in Code of Conduct charges or your removal from residential campus and revocation of an approval to stay on campus.

While we understand these guidelines are restrictive, they are meant to protect you and the entire UAA community. Thank you for assistance as we continue to navigate this global health crisis.

Sincerely,
Your On-Campus Living Team
