Community & Technical College hiring Interim Dean

The Community & Technical College (CTC) at the University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking internal applications for an interim Dean to serve a two-year appointment beginning in July 2020.

CTC is a large and diverse college of the University of Alaska. The CTC Office of the Dean administers 5 academic divisions, plus 3 academic departments. The Dean provides curricular and programmatic oversight of career and technical programs at the UAA Community Campuses in collaboration with their Directors and faculty. Full-time (regular) college personnel number approximately 100 faculty and staff.

CTC delivers instruction through more than 20 programs ranging from occupational endorsement certificates to bachelor’s degrees. CTC is also responsible for delivery of the foundational, or Tier One, General Education Requirements for Communication, Quantitative Studies, and Writing. In addition, the college offers non-credit and professional development instruction that supports workforce needs. CTC has an operating budget of $13M.

This position provides leadership for the following CTC Divisions, Departments, and Programs: Aviation Technology Division, Building Technologies Division, Department of Communication, Culinary Arts & Hospitality Administration Division, Department of Quantitative Studies, ROTC-Army, ROTC-Air Force, Transportation & Power Division, TRIO Upward Bound, TRIO Student Support Services, UAA Learning Commons, UAA Testing Center, University Studies Division, Department of Writing, and the Office of the Dean.
