Limited housing for fall 2020

by UAA On-Campus Living  |

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, on-campus housing at UAA will operate at a reduced capacity and with limited services in fall 2020. Only residents meeting certain exception criteria will be approved to live on-campus. Due to the reduced capacity and the number of applications already received, On-Campus Living will stop accepting fall 2020 housing applications June 19, 2020. After June 19, interested students can request that they be added to a wait list in the event that the current pandemic subsides and housing is able to open up more fully.

The Centers for Disease Control has indicated that high-density congregate housing is risky due to the infectious nature of COVID-19. We have seen recent outbreaks in other high-density housing facilities in Anchorage. At this time, we recommend students pursue other off-campus housing arrangements in non-congregate environments.

OCL understands the burden this places on students and their families and are looking forward to a time in the future where we can again accomodate students with the high quality and engaging residential experience we are known for. If you have any questions regarding this information, please do not hesitate to contact OCL at 907-751-7202 or uaa_housing@alaska.edu.
