Accreditation Series - Core Competency Open Forum

Personal, Professional and Community Responsibility

What is it? Where do we promote it? How do we help students develop it?

Friday, Oct. 16, 9-11 a.m. via Zoom

In Spring 2020, the UAA community selected four institution-wide core student learning competencies. This year, UAA is highlighting the competency of Personal, Professional and Community Responsibility. Because it is an institution-wide competency, we need to think about how this kind of student learning occurs in both traditional classroom settings and more broadly in student activity and service settings.

Join us for this hands-on workshop to share ideas on how students, staff, faculty and administrators can create learning opportunities that promote personal, professional and community responsibility.

Who will benefit from attending:

  • Students — Where are you learning about Personal, Professional, and Community Responsibility at UAA? Where are you applying what you learn?
  • Staff — You are on the frontline helping to facilitate student learning experiences such as safety in laboratory settings, mentoring student employees, and providing student success and other support services.
  • Faculty — You design and deliver curricular student learning experiences.
  • Administrators — You guide programs and services in developing student learning experiences that promote the core competencies.
