HUMS A190: Peer Support Practices - Whole Health Action Management (WHAM)
CRN: 51311
WHAM is a peer support program designed to teach skills needed to achieve whole health
by self-managing to have a healthy mind and body. It is helpful in navigating our
internal resistance to begin health habits. It supports us to manage daily stress,
when often our health and self-care take a back seat to responsibilities at work,
caring for others and just about everything else. For questions regarding the course:

HUMS A490: Human Trafficking: Alaska & Beyond
CRN: 51307
This advanced 10-week course focuses on the warning signs of human trafficking, the
immediate and long-term needs of victims, interventions, and cultural competency issues
in the delivery of services. This course also includes a two-day conference that features
speakers on missing and murdered indigenous women in Alaska, treating trauma, labor
trafficking, law enforcement’s role, and interagency collaboration. For questions

HUMS A290: Practice into the Wild - Introduction to Outdoor Behavioral Health
CRN: 51310
Students in social work, human services, psychology and other helping professions
will develop appreciation of how the outdoors can serve as a resource for developing
the social, cognitive and emotional skills of members of vulnerable groups. The Alaska
AHEC is offering scholarships to cover tuition and fees for enrollment and successful

HUMS A390: Youth & Substance Use Disorders
CRN: 51309
This course addresses the issues related to youth/adolescence and young adults or
college students misusing alcohol, drugs, prescription medications and other substances.
This course includes a one-day conference, entitled “Complex Trauma and Addiction
IV: The Intersection of the Pandemics,” which will highlight the current effect of
