UAA IT Services announces FY21 telecommunications rate

The FY21 Telecommunications rate for the Anchorage and community campuses is approved. The FY21 rate is a combined rate, covering both telecommunication services, phone and handset costs. With this rate we are giving departments the opportunity to participate in a handset cost reduction. As we continue to see increasing staff and faculty using phones from computers, turn in your physical phone handset and use Jabber within the office to reduce your department’s total telecommunications cost, by the handset cost of $61.90. If your department decides to participate, only 20% of users can use Jabber within the office and the remaining users are required to have a physical desk phone. This is to ensure we stay compliant with E911 location services and regulations. IT Services will have the option for users to purchase wired headsets and will release a notification when they are available.
