by UAA Office of Emergency Management  |

The UAA Office of Emergency Management wants you to know that Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 10:20 a.m. FEMA and the Federal Communications Commission will test the nation’s public alert systems. The purpose of the test is to assess the effectiveness of the Emergency Alert System to convey a national message by radio, TV and cell phones. You may see a test message on your television and hear one on radios and to mobile phones that says “This is a test of the National Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.” More information about WEA and EAS can be found at Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (FEMA.gov).
