Oct. 15: Cultural Identity Project results presentation

Last year, we held a program called the Cultural Identity Project, an Elder-led program at UAA. The program incorporated storytelling from Elders; hands-on cultural activities; discussion and connection with other Alaska Native students, staff, and faculty; exploration of cultural identity; and documentation and sharing of cultural identity and strengths. A total of 44 Alaska Native undergraduate students participated in the program at UAA during the last academic year, and the program had a positive effect on students' cultural identity development, cultural strengths, wellbeing and sense of community at the university.
