Job opening: Behavioral Health Training Coordinator

The Center for Human Development at the University of Alaska Anchorage in the College of Health is recruiting a Behavioral Health Training Coordinator with the Alaska Training Cooperative program.
This position is responsible for training and/or coordinating training for the behavioral health workforce statewide who provide an array of services and support to beneficiaries of the AK Mental Health Trust Authority (AMHTA). This training position requires a multi-disciplinary approach, including disabilities with a main focus on mental health and behavioral health, and the use of a learning management system. This position will also be a training team member and serve as the lead for both in person and distance delivered program training activities focused on collaborating with Alaskan communities to train rural behavioral health care providers by blending best practices with traditional wisdom.
Specifically, this behavioral health training coordinator position is expected to utilize technical expertise and knowledge of developing training resources, principles of training, and evidence-based practices in behavioral health including theory, diversity, cultural attunement, skills in dealing with professional groups, and varied methods of delivery including distance delivery. This position will focus on development, and implementing training programs in community mental health techniques, including but not limited to content such as crisis intervention and response, responding to trauma, suicide prevention, mental health awareness, and first aid, and other training needs of direct service providers, professionals, and general healthcare workforce as determined. Additionally, this position will coordinate mental health training for identified participants, collaborates with partners and colleagues to meet training needs, and maintains training records via a learning management system.
This position will work under the supervision of the Center for Human Development Training Director who oversees the Alaska Training Cooperative (AKTC) at the UAA Center for Human Development.
The grant funded AKTC program mission is to promote career development opportunities for direct service professionals, supervisors and professionals in the field engaged with the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority beneficiaries, by ensuring that training technical assistance and workforce training is accessible and coordinated statewide.
