Join us for the CBPP Business Plan Competition Kick-off on Nov. 19

What’s the recipe for cooking up a perfect business plan? Along with essential ingredients, it takes time and practice. UAA students, community members, and Tom Case Leadership Fellows Academy scholars can get that practice during the 2022 College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) Business Plan Competition. This is an opportunity to craft a business plan as an individual or team and get feedback and inspiration from judges and experienced entrepreneurs.

The CBPP Business Plan Competition consists of a series of events between November 2021 and April 2022. The first event is on online kick-off on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. Participants will learn about competition categories, dates, guidelines and prizes. They will meet the judges and hear from James Strong, a 2006 CBPP graduate. Strong owns Sweet Caribou, which just celebrated five years of treating Anchorage to artisan macarons, lunch bowls and gourmet desserts. He will share his experience as an entrepreneur, including how Sweet Caribou has weathered the pandemic. Participants will have a chance to win door prizes, including Sweet Caribou macarons.

Currents sponsors of the CBPP Business Plan Competition include Alaskan Data Solutions, Anchorage International Rotary Club, Tom Case Leadership Fellows Academy and Alan Johnston.
