AEDC seeks UAA business or economics student to serve as an intern

by Anchorage Economic Development Corporation  |

AEDC is seeking a two-week intern to perform data gathering for the Cost of Living Index (COLI), a national survey of 260+ communities that measures the average cost of living in an average city in America and then provides analysis of the cost of living competitiveness of all cities participating in the survey. In 2022, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau and Kodiak participated in the survey.

AEDC gathers data via the web for Anchorage and submits that data to C2ER, the national nonprofit that analyzes data submitted by the 260+ communities participating in the survey. The intern will be responsible for learning the basic data gathering methodology C2ER requires through a brief online training and then performing the needed research for price points on the 200+ items included in the survey matrix. The intern will then input the information gathered thru the C2ER portal. The data gathering and input period is flexible but must be performed and completed between April 7-28, 2022.

The stipend will be $500 for the two weeks of part-time work required. The intern may work from home or use the office resources of AEDC to perform the data gathering process. Intern will report directly to the President & CEO. Please submit a brief resume and letter of interest to Bill Popp, President & CEO, AEDC, at wpopp@aedcweb.com.
