Job opening: Alcohol, Drug and Wellness Educator

The Alcohol, Drug, and Wellness Educator (ADWE) is a key member of the UAA Dean of Students Office. This position is also a member of the Student Health & Counseling Center health promotion team which sponsors campaigns and events on health and wellness issues. The ADWE: 1) coordinates UAA’s substance abuse education efforts, 2) plans programs and events about alcohol, drugs and wellness topics, 3) provides training and presentations on alcohol and other drugs, and 4) seeks partnerships or grants pertaining to substance abuse or wellness topics. The Dean of Students Office seeks an ADWE who follows a student-centered philosophy, regularly infuses student development theory into daily practices, and encourages and supports students in their pursuit of a safe and healthy lifestyle, free of substance abuse.
