ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – University of Alaska Anchorage head hockey coach Matt Shasby announced that former St. Cloud State goalie Joey Lamoreaux will be joining the Seawolves for the 2022-23 season.

“Joey is exactly what we were looking for when we set out to find a goalie from the transfer portal,” said Matt Shasby. “He has played junior hockey at the highest level and has spent the past three years in an elite program at St. Cloud. We are expecting him to come in and establish the starting spot and help us win hockey games against some of the top teams in college hockey.”

Joey Lamoreaux spent the previous three seasons at St. Cloud State where he posted a 3.37 goals against average and an .882 save percentage in six games. The native of Brookfield, Wis., was a three-time Academic All-NCHC honoree. The Huskies qualified for the NCAA Tournament twice during Lamoreaux’s career, including a national runner-up finish in 2021.

Lamoreaux played two seasons of junior hockey with the Madison Capitals (USHL) finishing with a 13-43-3 record, a 3.89 goals against average and an .897 save percentage.
