Students, faculty and staff, we are excited to welcome you back to campus and kick off the 2022 academic year. Celebrate with us all weekend long with events and activities for you and your whole family to enjoy.

Faculty and Staff Convocation

Join your colleagues and UAA leadership on Friday, Aug. 26, from 8:30-10 a.m. in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium to welcome the new academic year. Enjoy light refreshments, new spirit wear for in-person attendees and a chance to honor and celebrate your colleagues’ professional accomplishments and milestones.

For those who cannot attend in person, a webinar link will be emailed. Please be sure to RSVP to receive the link and claim your UAA gear. 

Campus Kickoff

Get to know UAA and campus life by exploring the 100+ booths highlighting student organizations, university departments and our local community partners. Local food truck vendors, Yeti Dog, Papaya Tree, Kaladi's and more will provide free food and coffee. While perusing booths in Cuddy Quad, enjoy tunes from KRUA 88.1FM The Edge, UAA’s student-run music station, and try your hand at a number of games and interactive activities. If you’re up for a challenge, scale the National Guard's Rock Wall!

UAA at the Fair!

Catch the UAA booths at the Alaska State Fair, August 26-28. UAA is a proud partner of this annual Alaska event and will be joined by aspiring ninjas of all ages throughout the weekend with The Eskimo Ninja, Nick 'Iligutchiak' Hanson, at his Ninja Warrior camp! Nick is an Alaskan athlete of Inupiaq descent who grew up in Unalakleet before rising to prominence through his participation in the American Ninja Warrior competition.
