Campus Kickoff: Campus Wide Meeting, July 7

We are excited for Campus Kickoff 2022 on Aug. 27 from 1-4 p.m.! Due to logistical concerns, this year's Kickoff is moving back to the Cuddy Quad, which has been its home for over a decade!

Greetings, colleagues! I am excited to join the Seawolf family and looking forward to our relocation to Anchorage from northern Idaho. Unfortunately, securing an unfurnished house with fenced back yard that allows pets with a lease start date of August 15-September 15 is proving a challenge.

UAA is a smoke and tobacco-free campus

As the summer continues and we enjoy spending time outdoors in Alaska, we want to remind everyone that UAA is a smoke and tobacco-free campus. UAA has been a smoke and tobacco-free campus since 2015, following a Board of Regents vote to institute this policy on all University of Alaska campuses.

Chancellor update on July 9 Alaska Airlines Center event

I anticipate most of you have seen or heard that next Saturday, July 9, the Save America political action committee will be renting the Alaska Airlines Center to host a rally for several political candidates. Please note that UAA is not hosting the event.

Celebrating Independence Day

UAA will be closed Monday, July 4, and Tuesday, July 5, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Campus Services supports the naturalization of 124 new US citizens!

On Friday, June 24, 2022, the UAA Wendy Williamson Auditorium sponsored and hosted the first large Naturalization Ceremony for Alaska since the onset of the pandemic.

Covid & Beyond: Black Health & Wellness Town Hall

The Alaska Black Caucus is inviting the community to attend the first-ever "Covid & Beyond: Black Health & Wellness Town Hall." This event will be taking place on Thursday, June 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium of the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Wildlife is active on and around campus; be aware of your surroundings

Moose and bears are active on the Anchorage campus right now. Be very aware of your surroundings when you're in the area. If you encounter wildlife, keep your distance and do not approach. Be mindful of younger animals and their mother’s relative location.
