UAA’s Center for Human Development is working to better understand brain injuries

In Alaska, brain injuries are particularly prevalent compared to the rest of the country. Alaska leads the nation in traumatic brain injury-related deaths. March is Brain Injury Awareness Month and UAA’s Center for Human Development is engaging in significant work to better understand traumatic and acquired brain injuries in Alaska.

The UAA Student Health and Counseling Center is hosting a flu shot and COVID-19 booster clinic on Tuesday, March 1, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Consortium Library, south entrance facing Providence Drive. This is for UAA students and employees.

March 1: Blood drive at the Alaska Airlines Center

On Tuesday, March 1, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., the Health Professions Student Organization, along with the Blood Bank of Alaska, is hosting a blood drive at Alaska Airlines Center. The mobile blood bank truck will be parked outside.
